• Lavandula angustifolia water (lavender floral water)

Lavender is credited with being anti-allergenic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antibacterial, antispasmodic, balancing, energising, soothing, healing, toning and stimulating. Lavender is thought to stimulate cellular growth and regeneration in the skin by helping your upper layer of skin rejuvenate itself.

• Butyrospermum parkii butter (shea butter)

  Shea butter is a natural fat derived from the nuts of the shea tree that has been used for centuries in West African cultures for its medicinal and cosmetic benefits. Shea butter contains a high concentration of vitamins A, E, and F, which work together to nourish and moisturise the skin. Its fatty acids also help to protect the skin's natural oils and improve its elasticity. Shea butter is particularly beneficial for dry, sensitive, or ageing skin as it can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It is also a great ingredient for those with eczema, psoriasis, or other skin conditions, as it can soothe and heal irritated skin. • Prunus armeniaca kernel oil (apricot kernel oil)

Rich in vitamin A and minerals, apricots produce a velvety oil that softens and seals in moisture. The oil is chiefly composed of oleic acid and linoleic acid, both of which are unsaturated fats beneficial for the skin.

• Simmondsia chinensis seed oil (jojoba oil)

Deeply penetrating, jojoba oil has a dry texture that rebalances the flow of sebum and prevents dehydration of the skin. Due to its soothing and healing properties, it is perfect for sensitive skin. It also helps your skin fight external aggressions especially cold and wind.

• c14-22 alcohols

  c14-22 alcohols are fatty alcohols derived from vegetables and look completely different to “bad” alcohols. They’re not drying or irritating to your skin at all, they just help as emulsifiers in the formula.

• Cetyl palmitate

  This thickener and emollient helps smooth and condition dry skin. The ingredients that comprise cetyl palmitate are naturally occurring fatty acids. The one we use is derived from plants.

• Oryza sativa starch (rice starch)

  Rice starch is a natural substance that has long been used in cosmetics and skincare products for delicate, sensitive skin. Rice starch powders are known for their absorbent properties to treat skin disorders. They form a thin film on the skin as a buffer against rubbing. By absorbing water, they extend the duration of the skin's moisture and provide hydrating and emollient benefits. They also have a refreshing effect, reducing redness, irritation and itching.

• Benzyl alcohol

  Antimicrobial preservative and solvent. One of the few preservatives allowed in organic products. It is naturally present in apricots, almonds, apples, asparagus, etc.

• c12-20 alkyl glucoside

  Of natural origins and approved by all organic certifications, it helps to stabilise emulsions and provides a restructuring effect and a moisturising effect.

• Xanthan gum

An excellent, sugar-based, natural thickener for emulsions and cleansing systems. It is a polysaccharide produced through a bio-fermentation process of the Xanthamonas campestris bacteria and sucrose or glucose.

• Citric acid

Existing in a variety of fruits and vegetables like lemons, limes, oranges, tangerines and blackberries, it is used in cosmetics and personal care products to adjust their ph balance, inhibit tyrosinase to even out the skin tone and sometimes to impart a lemon-like fragrance to a product.

• Dehydroacetic acid

Used as an antimicrobial and fungicide preservative.

• Coumarin, geraniol, limonene, linalool

These are not ingredients in the formula, but naturally occurring allergens mostly from essential oils which have to be indicated on packaging over a certain threshold as per European regulations. According to the European Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS), 1% to 3% of the European population may be allergic to these natural substances.
